Comfortable compact cottage. Ideal for visiting Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge. Kitchen and bathroom a little tired and dated but completely functional. A little road noise at the front but not intrusive

We had a pleasant stay at The Coach House, and we would like to return at some point. The location is perfect for visiting Rendlesham Forest and Sutton Hoo.The cottage is set within the owner’s woodland grounds, which our grandchildren loved! It is near to the main road, but it wasn’t an issue throughout our stay as it was peaceful inside the cottage.I always give an honest review, so I must mention the only drawback, which is the beds. The mattresses were not comfortable at all, some were very lumpy and tended to dig into your pressure points; particularly the three beds on the upper floor, they are in need of replacement.Overall, a very pleasant cottage in a nice location.

We stayed at The Coach House recently and we hope that the owner is able to take this review as constructive criticism. There was a lot to like about the Coach House but unfortunately the place could do with some updating and there are some things that definitely need attention. In no particular order ...The kitchen door wouldn't lock. The single beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. The brick patio area was uneven and infested with ants and parts were covered in weeds.By the front door there were two pathetic pots of plants which were almost dead. The outside furniture needs replacing, apart from being dirty, some items were rusty. The picture windows at the front didn't look like they'd been cleaned in months. The BBQ was unusable, it needed a thorough cleaning. There was no frying pan, just a griddle pan and wok that had seen better days and we didn't fancy cooking in them. The coasters were stained and even the wi-fi info sheet had cup stain rings on it.We left early and can only give this place 6/10 but it so easily could make 10/10with a bit of TLC.If you do decide to stay ....The cottage is very close to Sutton Hoo, which is well worth a visit, especially if you're a National Trust member. We ate out at the Wilford Bridge pub, easy walking distance, make sure you download the Deben Inns app, which gives various discounts. The water is very hot!Unfortunately the cottage is close to the main road which can be noisy and does make it difficult to drive out.
