Enjoy a well-deserved break in this peaceful and characterful annexe with a welcoming and homely feel in the picturesque Suffolk village of Yoxford. Wake up to river views in this cosy couple’s bolthole and dine alfresco in the shrub-filled garden with a BBQ and a gazebo. Take a picnic for a romantic day out amidst nature in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you’ll find expansive beaches, nature reserves and quaint seaside towns.
Inside is a compact kitchen/diner with farmhouse-style units and bold colours threaded throughout. Prepare a hearty meal for your other half and dine together at the quirky table with chairs. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom. Upstairs you will find the bedroom/lounge which has a comfortable double plus a sofa which looks out onto the river and is positioned next to the TV for a cosy evening in. Outside is a rectangular garden with a BBQ, furniture and a gazebo.
While staying in the small village of Yoxford, the local pub, an antiques shop plus a park and garden are all around 0.5 miles away. Head east to reach the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – with bird-watching opportunities in the rspb Minsmere nature reserve just 6 miles away. Next to this is the tranquil National Trust Dunwich Heath and Beach (7 miles) where you can go for a swim, stroll along the waterfront and visit the tea room. Discover the 14th-century Leiston Abbey ruins (5.5 miles) and visit Aldeburgh (12.5 miles) for an afternoon of admiring the town’s architecture, hiking along the coastal trails and relaxing on the beach.
