Fantastic accommodation just a short walk from a long pebble beach. We found Tranquil Dawn to be a great base for Gorleston (sandy beach), Horsey (seal watching from a safe distance), Oulton Broad (paddle boarding), Great Yarmouth (Hippodrome circus, hardest parkrun in the country all on sand), Norwich (shopping, kayaking on the river, indoor themed mini golf), Southwold (pier, beach, pretty town, wonderful cafes and gelato), Aldeburgh (pretty fishing village and cafes), Thorpeness (beautiful lake in the village and a welcoming golf club with outdoor mini golf) and boating on the Broads. More locally Pleasurewood Hills is surprisingly good fun and well worth a visit with kids but do walk, don’t drive, and avoid the car park fee. There is a large Tesco and chain restaurants close by. If you prefer independents, the Lighthouse Cafe is amazing value for a full English breakfast, and for something more special try Ness Point Coffee Shop (difficult to find just inside the barrier to the port) for fantastic home made food and cakes cooked daily.

We arrived to find the lodge in immaculate condition. We are very experienced at lodge/cottage holidays and without doubt this is one of the best examples of quality accommodation the we have ever enjoyed. The owner had obviously taken great care to ensure everything that one could need was provided and all of it in first class condition.A short stroll to the adjacent cliff top will give one the perfect opportunity to take photographs of sunrise. This lodge is located in the most eastern point of the UK so you will be one of the first to see the sun seemingly appear out of the water. My wife and I found the whole holiday at Tranquil Dawn to be outstanding

A lovely restful place to stay- walks to the quiet beach through the woods. A very comfortable lodge with every convenience. The village pub is friendly and the little village shop attached if well stocked.
