The Stone Barn is nestled in the Downton Estate and is one of three romantic and restorative farm barns for adults, beautifully converted and renovated while still retaining their original character. Inside, you’ll find a spacious kitchen and dining area, as well as a comfortable sitting room with a wood burning stove, perfect for those cosy evenings for two. There are lovely walks right from the front door – and a two-minute stroll takes you to an award-winning restaurant, Old Downton Lodge.
The views from the cottage and the patio outside are breathtaking, ranging across the rolling countryside. The Downton Estate stretches for nearly 5,000 acres across the picturesque hilly and wooded countryside of Herefordshire and Shropshire. The market town of Ludlow is just four miles away and is an architectural gem, with a historic castle perched on a cliff looking out above the River Teme.
Also available to book at this beautiful location are: The Cart Shed and The Timber Barn. Perfect as a group booking for a special celebration or gathering. Just a mile away and still on the estate is the lovely Wassell Barn; a fabulous barn conversion sleeping six guests.

The process of booking was seamless, the arrival instructions were very clear and the cottage was excellent. It was very well equipped and a good hamper of local produce. The location was lovely with many walks on the door step.

The Barn was absolutely gorgeous, well equipped and in a lovely location . The welcome hamper was excellent. We would love to go back.
