The Timber Barn is a beautiful barn conversion, renovated to offer a superior level of comfort. The owners have been careful to ensure that the property has retained its original rural charm and character, while taking advantage of its setting to ensure guests have wonderful views of the picturesque landscape all around. The garden looks out across rolling countryside where walkers enjoy this breath-taking scenery. One of the delights of staying here is the fact that an award-winning restaurant, Old Downton Lodge, is literally just a two-minute walk from the front door.
The open-plan living area has some superb views of the rolling landscapes of the Downton Estate, which extends to nearly 5,000 acres along the Herefordshire and Shropshire borders. There are plenty of footpaths through the woods and the area is famed for the beautiful Shropshire Hills. You’re also within easy reach of Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town with a beautiful and historic castle perched on a cliff overlooking the River Teme.
Also available to book at this beautiful location are: The Stone Barn and The Cart Shed. Perfect as a group booking for a special celebration or gathering. Just a mile away and still on the estate is the lovely Wassell Barn; a fabulous barn conversion sleeping six guests.

The timber barn is set in a beautiful peaceful rural location overlooking fields. There is wildlife in abundance. The barn itself is beautifully restored and furnished to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean, couldnât fault it.

Absolutely perfect for the 2 of us and our dog. The Timber Barn was spotless, very cosy for the time of year and tastefully furnished. Loved using the log burner. Perfect getaway for us. As for location, rural with lovely views. Ideal location for getting out and exploring. Would happily stay again and thoroughly recommend the Timber Barn. Just 2 minor details - wish there were facilities outside to have washed our muddy dog before bringing him inside and for a larger doormat for him to sit. As always, I bring loads of towels for him as heâs like a sponge at this wet time of year. Also, my husband was in need of plasters. We found the first aid kit but noticed a few items were past their use by dates. Just need a little update. As I said, minor details. We had a lovely stay and a lovely welcome pack made for a finishing touch.
