Alternatively, take a drive to the stunning natural lake at Llangorse, where you can enjoy lakeside walks or take a trip out on the pedaloes. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing on the River Wye, as well as popular salmon or coarse fishing. Take time out and go pony trekking to see the Black Mountains and Radnorshire Hills. Hay-on-Wye is also on the northern edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), opening up even more days out exploring the fabulous mountains in the park.
