Hayloft Barn is a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional, rustic charm. Exposed beams adorn two cosy bedrooms, warm and inviting living and dining areas, and a well-equipped kitchen. A loft offers a relaxing reading retreat and board games. There’s even a table football game for indoor entertainment.
Hayloft Barn is set amidst the owner’s own farm and is close to the lively market town of Hay-on-Wye, with its world-renowned bookshops and annual literary festival held in May. Hay Castle, originally constructed as part of the Norman invasion of Wales, is a medieval site which offers guests a fascinating day out. The historic cathedral city of Hereford is about 20 miles away and offers an array of bars, shops and restaurants for guests to enjoy on a day out to the city. There is a good range of country pubs nearby where guests can enjoy food and a drink. For those looking to be more active there are stunning walks onto Hay Bluff, The Begwyns and the Black Mountains. Offa’s Dyke Path runs through the farm and leads to Hay-on-Wye and beyond. The River Wye is a stroll away, offering swimming, kayaking and exclusive fishing (on your own or with a guide if booked in advance).

We visited lovely Cabalva farm with our two dogs for short break - 4 nights. Nancy and Justin are fantastic hosts. Very approachable, nice and opened for a small talk anytime. The farm is a beautiful place with a plenty of room to walk and easy access to mighty river Wye. Accommodation is full of charm and character. Amazing conversion of few hundred years old buildings was performed, leaving a lot of original features but creating a modern and luxurious space for the leaving.As I am a kind angler I can recommend the fishery. Plenty of chub 4-5 Lb but the real joy were barbells. I caught few of them with the biggest around 10 Lb. Lovely fishing.We will certainly come back and I can strongly recommend the place for anyone loving nature, outdoor leaving and a touch of history feeling while on Holiday. Close distance to Hay on Wye (lovely walk along the river) is additional argument for coming to Cabalva.Aga & Bart
