About this property
Green Gables is a spacious 1930’s period house set in large gardens in the picturesque village of Eardisley. This former doctor’s house and surgery has been recently converted into a luxurious holiday home with four double bedrooms.
Located at the edge of Eardisley Village, the property benefits from a rural location on a country lane while having easy access in a few minutes walk to a great local pub and local store. Fantastic for walkers, with the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons within easy reach. Hay-on-Wye is only a short fifteen minute drive away, renowned for its festival, books and lovely shops. For the adventurous, in the summer you can enjoy river canoeing on the Wye river as well as many other activities.
If you’re getting all the family together or going away with a large group of friends, you want somewhere that has enough space for you all to feel comfortable. Renovated to a high standard, this light and airy home has ample space inside, and the large garden is the perfect place for the children to run off steam. Inside, there’s a self-contained bedroom, en-suite, living room and kitchenette on the ground floor, so one couple can enjoy their own separate space. The sitting room has a lovely view over the garden and the rolling Herefordshire countryside beyond, and the wood burning stoves are lovely to snuggle up to.

We stayed here recently for a few days to celebrate a Golden Wedding anniversary. 3 generations, we all loved this comfortable, spacious and well equipped property. The oldies loved the separate ground floor "suite ". The children loved the large garden and the swings, and also the piano and the puzzles and games. We did have a hiccup with entry to the property as the key safe was empty, but that was soon sorted. Our only issue was that the cooker has an induction hob, which means anyone with a pacemaker has to keep well away. Sadly this was missing from the very detailed information on the website, but a reminder that we need to check this specifically for any further holidays.

A lovely house for a family holiday. Lots of room for 3 couples, 2 children and a dog. Well equipped and warm with a good supply of logs which got us through some very cold weather. Large dining room for family meals. A good selection of TV channels and DVDs. Plenty of parking too.

We had a really lovely week in this fabulous house. The space worked really well for two families with teenagers. Very well equipped kitchen and tasteful decor throughout. There was an initial problem with the heating & hot water but this was rectified by the owner within a couple hours.
