Experience a peaceful pace of life from this Herefordshire property, moseying around the 3.5 acres of spectacular gardens before getting cosy indoors. Masses of space wait for four guests in this former barn, a property that’s located next door to the owner’s house yet still retains its own sense of peace and privacy. Visit this place as two couples or a small family with older children, enjoying all the indoor and outdoor tranquillity that a small group can enjoy. For daily activities, head out and get to know the many wonderful offerings of the England-Wales border, with incredible walking routes and pretty local towns to discover.
Offering double-height ceilings, original beams, skylights and heaps of natural light, the atmosphere in this place is bright and appealing. The ground floor is split into a lovely dining space with a traditional 1959 Wurlitzer jukebox, a well-equipped kitchen with all of the necessary features and a fabulously inviting lounge with a well-stocked library. Take a book from the library and step into the never-ending garden. The outdoor space was once featured on Gardeners' World and offers a wildlife pond and stunning scenery. Back indoors, notice a second lounge with comfortable sofas and a TV/DVD player on your way to the two bedrooms. Both rooms offer en-suite facilities for added convenience.
Close to the River Wye (7 miles) and the border between England and Wales (4.5 miles), you’ll never fall short of appealing outdoor spaces to explore. Snaking along the border is the famous Offa’s Dyke Pathway, a long-distance route that encompasses so much of Wales’ beautiful countryside. Visit Hay-on-Wye (12 miles), the ancient book town that acts as a gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park. With its annual literary festival, endless second-hand bookshops and plenty of pubs and cafes, this town is a wonderful spot for an afternoon out.
