Guests say

The Lodge Farm Barn is a beautifully decorated and well-equipped cottage set in a tranquil, rural location near Ross-on-Wye. Guests consistently praise its peaceful surroundings, comfortable interiors, and welcoming hosts. The property is an excellent base for exploring Herefordshire and the Forest of Dean, with many attractions nearby. While the Wi-Fi and mobile signal can be unreliable and the track leading to the barn may be rough, these minor issues are outweighed by the overall charm, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches provided by the owners.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the property as exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and tidy. Fresh bed linen, fluffy towels, and spotless interiors are often mentioned.

The location is widely praised for its peace, seclusion, and beautiful countryside views. Guests appreciate the proximity to local attractions and the abundance of wildlife, though a few note the access track can be challenging to find or rough in poor weather.

Guests find the cottage very comfortable, with cosy lounges, comfortable beds, and a relaxing garden. The log burner is a favourite feature. A few minor comments mention small bedrooms or a less comfortable sofa, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The barn is well-equipped with modern amenities, including ensuite bathrooms, a washing machine, and a well-stocked kitchen. Some guests mention variable Wi-Fi and water pressure, but these are generally seen as minor drawbacks in an otherwise excellent offering.

Many guests mention the warm welcome from the owners and thoughtful touches such as a welcome package of cake and milk. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay. The option to order home-cooked meals is also appreciated.

We had a very enjoyable stay - thank you! Minor points - the track is pretty rough after a challenging winter; we didn't always find the heating adequate during a cold week, though the stove made for very cosy evenings, and there was a fan heater to use; the WiFi was very weak and constantly dropped the connection to our mobiles (although the smart TV was [mostly] fine). The owners are aware of these issues, and I'm sure they will be addressing them. This is a lovely place to stay.
