About this property

31 Riverside is a semi-detached, end-terrace cottage, situated in the market town of Bridgnorth, only a short distance from shops, pubs, and attractions, embracing a riverside position. Whether you have a couple’s holiday in mind, or are planning an adventure with friends or family, this retreat provides three floors of excellence, ensuring you feel truly relaxed during your stay. From the welcoming living/dining room, with its table for four guests, and charming woodburning stove, to the contemporary kitchen; the ground floor layout offers all the essentials for a self-catered stay. The first floor showcases a king-size bedroom, looking out over the calm river waters, and a delightful, sleek shower room, so you can get ready in style during your stay. The second floor is equally as desirable, presenting a super-king-size bedroom, this time with a zip/link option for flexibility, a skylight window to welcome in the natural light and an en-suite cloakroom for convenience. Outdoors you will discover a lovely, pet-friendly courtyard, resting to the rear, and a characterful outbuilding, almost a 'cave', featuring a luxury hot tub; look forward to returning here after a long day. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums, and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its ten museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton are well worth a visit. Just a stone’s throw away, guests can enjoy a plethora of amenities, dining out near the riverside, or stopping off for a pint or two, before exploring the remains of Bridgnorth Castle and Gardens, or travelling a little further to discover the beauty of Astbury Falls Waterfall. Set a car journey from the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, all of this, and more awaits at 31 Riverside.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.

The hot tub in the cave and log burner are excellent. The owners were very responsive when we messaged with any questions. Thank you.

But for those who are thinking about booking you won't be disappointed. It is beautifully kept and well equipped. The beds and 3 piece suit are all very comfortable with added soft furnishings for extra comfort. All in all our little bit of heaven to escape from rat run. The top bedroom stairs could be difficult for some but this is always the room of my choice as its so bright in the day but still cosy in the morning. The hot tub is lovely and located in the most perfect spot so come rain or shine it's a pleasure. The cottage is well situated close to the town with plenty shops. We have booked other properties but this is definitely our favorite. We don't have a dog anymore and it always surprises me that I have never found evidence of a dog in the house which just shows the high standards of cleanliness. The owners communication is brilliant and responded to any questions we had very quickly. Nothing was to much much trouble to ensure our stay was complete. The black boy pub just behind the cottage is recommended, no frills just a nice friendly pub.

Great location right on the riverside at the bottom of High town, parking outside cottage was no issue, plenty of spaces. Thanks Sue for the welcome hamper, The fresh flowers and robes were also a lovely touch. Would definitely visit again with the family .
