Guests consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and the warm hospitality of the owners. The property is ideal for families, couples, and dog owners, with excellent amenities and thoughtful touches. While the rural location and access road are occasionally mentioned as challenging, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests returning for repeat stays and recommending it to others.
Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well maintained, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleaning issues such as pans or cobwebs. The majority of reviews highlight a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The rural setting, stunning views, and peaceful surroundings are frequently praised. The location is ideal for exploring Shropshire, though some guests note the remote access and rough approach road as minor drawbacks.
Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds, spaciousness, and cosy atmosphere, with several stating it is the most comfortable cottage they have stayed in. A few minor comments about sofa wear do not detract from the overall comfort.
The cottage is described as extremely well equipped, with a well-stocked kitchen, woodburner, WiFi, and extras like a fishing pond and summer house. Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., patio furniture, water pressure) are noted but do not overshadow the positive feedback.
Guests appreciate the owners' friendliness, helpfulness, and extra touches such as festive decorations and dog towels. While some mention a welcome pack would be nice, and gifts are not guaranteed, the overall impression is of considerate and attentive hosts.
A lovely, stone-built, detached cottage decorated and furnished in a traditional country style, boasting a wealth of original beams and trusses, and a lovely patio area with views over the owner's large pond (with resident swans) and surrounding countryside.
The small village of Billingsley is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and is only seven miles from Bridgnorth. The area offers excellent walking and cycling routes, as well as boasting easy access to country parks, great houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages. Visitors can enjoy a trip to the town of Bridgnorth - winner of the 'Britain in Bloom' award - which is comprised of the High Town and the Low Town connected by winding streets and stairs. The bustling Saturday street market is an excellent way to explore the town or alternatively, it is possible to visit the impressive castle ruins and take a ride on the steep funicular railway. Lots of very old dusty cobwebs under tables, radiators, cupboards, sealant needs re doing on hob, bathroom etc. A lot of tlc needed. Also I didn't see a recent award certificate as normally proudly displayed by all other properties we have stayed at.

It was decorated beautifully for Christmas, and was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
