Guests consistently praise the property for its immaculate cleanliness, stunning decor, and prime location with beautiful river views. The kitchen is a highlight, comfortably accommodating large groups, and the games room is a popular feature. While the cave bar is unique, it was less used due to the cold. The property is ideal for special occasions, offering spacious rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Despite some noise from a nearby bar and occasional parking challenges, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property is repeatedly described as immaculately clean and fresh, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The location is frequently commended for its spectacular river views and proximity to local amenities and events, such as the music festival and steam railway station.
Comfort is highlighted with spacious rooms and a communal kitchen/dining area that caters well to large parties. However, some guests mentioned noise from a bar and a cold cave bar area.
Facilities like the games room are well-received, but there are comments about the cave bar being cold and damp, and a suggestion for heating. The lack of a potato masher was noted.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so this category cannot be scored.

Originally built in 1693, this historic home was once a riverman’s refuge when its location on the banks of the River Severn in Low Town Bridgnorth was a vibrant trading port. Over the centuries, the historic character of the building was maintained as it became a hostelry including a unique brewery, pub, a hotel and more latterly a Bed and Breakfast. The property has been significantly refurbished and upgraded, to now be presented as a luxury home with an enhanced specification and all modern amenities. Outside, there is a glorious and historic cave that has been around since the Saxon times, which has been built into the cliff face. It houses an astro-turfed relaxing area and bar facilities.
Located in the heart of Bridgnorth town overlooking The River Severn and next door to the world-famous cliff railway, the property offers guests a comfortable, stylish and luxurious place to stay. The property is a 5-minute walk from all High Town and Low Town amenities with an array of shops, bars and restaurants, including The Severn Valley Railway and visitor centre.
Blists Hill Victorian Town museum is also set nearby. Bridgnorth is fortunate to have many attractions scattered around its luscious countryside. You can have an unforgettable time travelling by steam railway. Just a short car journey takes you to the world-famous Ironbridge and its popular museums, The Royal Air Force Museum and Boscobel House. A few miles upstream of Bridgnorth is Shrewsbury, England’s finest Tudor town, which has one of the best waterfronts, a wide variety of shops, bars and a riverside theatre. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston Hall, Rays Farm Country Matters, Much Wenlock, West Midland Safari Park, Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow are also well worth a visit.
Bridgnorth is also very well placed for excellent fishing and many golf courses.

We booked the house to celebrate a special birthday friends. On the lead up to the weekend we had contact from the owner and property owner both of whom answered all our questions even providing an inventory of the kitchen as we had a private chef booked to cook for the 11 of us.Upon arrival we used the parking bay outside to unload and moved the car to a car park 5 minutes walk across the bridge (Severn Street Car Park) were we left it until pout departure. It was only £3.60 per day free on Sunday but we opted to pay £13 which gave a week parking as we would have had to renew at 8am on the Saturday and Monday. When we went into the property it was fantastic. Immaculately clean and fresh. We explored starting in the kitchen which became the focal point of the weekend and when we did have our meal the table was big enough to comfortably seat us all and more. The bedrooms all had that wow factor especially the master bedroom having the view over the bridge and the flowing river. The advertisement photos are exact and the property is as they are.The courtyard and the cave we unfortunately did not use due to the weather and there is no heating facility. It may be worth considering installing a halogen patio heater. The basement has a dart board, table football and a pool table all of which were made use of. Being a cellar though there was the smell of damp as you go down the stairs but the smell is soon unnoticeable. With the location being on the main road it was surprising how little noise could be heard and did not impact on our stay.We had a fantastic time with absolutely no complaints from anyone and would definitely look to book in the future.Thank you.
