Shepherds Cottage in Church Stretton is highly praised for its stunning location with breathtaking views and direct access to walks. Guests find it warm, cosy, and well-equipped, though some noted the kitchen and garden could use updates. The absence of Wi-Fi is occasionally mentioned, but the peaceful environment and friendly owner often compensate. Parking can be challenging, but the property's charm and scenery make it a favourite for many repeat visitors.
The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy, with a few isolated comments about kitchen utensils appearing well-used and some minor issues like a musty smell in the kitchen. However, the majority of reviews do not raise cleanliness as a concern, indicating a high level of satisfaction in this area.
The location receives high acclaim for its beautiful views, proximity to walking trails, and the peacefulness of the surrounding area. The convenience of being within walking distance to town amenities while being the last house before the countryside is frequently appreciated.
Guests find the cottage cosy and warm, with comfortable beds and a homely atmosphere. Some mention the property being basic but adequate, and the newly modernised bathroom is a plus. The comfort of the cottage contributes significantly to the enjoyment of the stay.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and a secure garden for dogs. However, there are comments about the kitchen being small and the washing machine being old. The lack of Wi-Fi is noted, but it does not seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, aside from the friendly and helpful nature mentioned in the reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

It is a beautiful, cosy home, with everything we need, and the owners are a lovely couple who are very welcoming. Having the Long Mynd on our doorstep means that we can take ourselves off for a delightful walk at the drop of a hat. The garden attracts lots of birds, too, and we saw a Red Kite from the living-room window this year. Thank you for another wonderful holiday!

Last house in the popular village (with rail links and good facilities) and facing towards the restful hillside with its sheep and ponies - so best of both worlds. Nice that the cottage now has wi-fi (not that you really come to such a place to stare at screens).
