Guests say

Betty's Barn in Shropshire is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and idyllic location. Guests appreciate the friendly owners and the property's charm, with special mentions of the welcoming touches and the surrounding wildlife. The spacious accommodation and on-site walks are highlights, contributing to a tranquil and enjoyable stay.

Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with many reviews highlighting the spotless condition upon arrival. One mention of a full hoover bag suggests a minor oversight, but overall, the high standards are well recognised.

The location is described as idyllic and peaceful, perfect for walks and enjoying nature. However, some guests mention the challenge of narrow access roads and one instance of vehicle damage due to potholes, slightly affecting the score.

The majority of guests find the cottage comfortable, with spacious rooms and cosy furnishings. A few guests mention the sofas being low and difficult to rise from, which is noted but does not detract significantly from the overall comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. Some guests suggest improvements such as additional mugs and plates, and more recycling information. The mention of a non-ensuite bathroom and a desire for an enclosed patio for pets indicate room for enhancement.

While many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful touches like flowers and biscuits, there is no consistent mention of gifts across the reviews to warrant a score. It's important to note that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

About this property

A welcoming terraced Church Stretton cottage, located close to Wenlock Edge on a working sheep farm. With original oak beams, two attractive bedrooms and a real cottage atmosphere, this cosy Church Stretton cottage is perfect for a family or romantic break. Note: This cottage is next to Ref 4137 and together they sleep 7.

The rural village of Eaton-under-Heywood lies under both the famous Wenlock Edge and the woods that run along it, and is surrounded by scenic countryside. From the village, the Jacob's Ladder path leads straight up the Edge, providing lovely walks. Nearby is the market town of Church Stretton, which lies in the heart of south Shropshire. It is set amid striking scenery and has often been described as "Little Switzerland". The town is the main centre for Shropshire's hill country and home to a variety of tearooms, pubs and specialist shops. Other local attractions include walks on the Long Mynd, the Acton Scott Working Farm as seen on TV, and Stokesay Castle. The historic towns of Shrewsbury, Ludlow, the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are only a short journey away.

We absolutely loved it and wouldn't hesitate to come again. It was lovely having the seating outside and looking over the fields whilst sitting having a coffee.

Beautiful cottage, gorgeous surroundings and lovely owners. We will definitely be back!

The outdoor furniture is not very comfortable if you want to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine for any length of time, something with a backrest would be more suitable. On arrival the biscuits were nice but a pint of milk and some teabags / coffee would be great as it is 5 miles down very narrow lanes to the nearest shop
