Great little hideaway on a cattle farm tucked alongside the canal. Private standing for the hut, very quiet & peaceful. Walks can be enjoyed along the canal in several directions, beautiful countryside, woodland & lakes at various points along the canal side.Friendly & helpful hosts, the hut was impeccably clean & tidy; a welcome pack of milk, juice & snacks provided which was a lovely touch. Sticks provided for the fire-pit, coals provided for the bbq by the hosts. The town & lake at Ellesmere is a 10 minute drive away, this offers a variety of shops, cafe's, pubs & a local indoor craft market on a Tuesday. Also close to the canal boat marina - look out for the lady selling her hand-painted & restored folk-style gifts! 20 minute drive away is Llangollen which sits on the River Dee, a truly stunning place with a shops, restaurants, bars & independent crafts.Hope to stay at Hare's Rest again in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was clean, quiet and restful. A lovely spot. The hut is small but it is cosy. The bed was very comfortable. With the right weather there is a large exclusive garden area with outdoor cooking facilities. Shropshire is a great area to explore. There are local pubs and others worth travelling for. The owners are wonderful. I will definitely consider it as a base should I return to the area.
