About this property

Trefonen 2.7 miles. Next to the owner's house on a working sheep farm, this beautiful detached barn conversion, The Old Cart House, has been carefully built, providing everything you could want in a holiday home. Separated from the owner's farmhouse by a wall to provide you with your own space, you can find a property suitable for a small family or a couples retreat, with ample parking and some sheep as neighbours! After you have reached the property up the single farm track, park up and head in through the glass doors, into the open-plan living space, with underfloor heating throughout, you will soon be warmed up. Unpack your food in the kitchen and decide what's on the evening menu, before using the excellent appliances to cook a delicious meal in this spacious and well-decorated room. Serve up on the dining table for a quality sit-down meal, and afterwards retire to the sitting area in front of the flat-screen TV, perfect for putting on a group-favourite film in the evening. Downstairs is also home to a sparkling shower room, so there won't be any waiting in line for the bathroom in the morning. Upstairs, discover the two bedrooms; a king-size and a twin 2' 6" which can convert to a king size on request, with the king-size featuring a door to the external staircase down the side of the house, as well as the family bathroom containing a bath with shower over. Enjoy the use of wardrobes in each delightful room, with the property also benefiting from space to store bikes or a caravan. Shropshire has a lot to offer and its popular town of Oswestry can offer an excellent selection of things to do in the form of shopping, restaurants and cafes while the surrounding countryside can offer historic sites and walking paths. Visit the Park Hall Countryside Experience, great for adults and children, to say hello to the small animals, or feed a little lamb, with activities and events happening from Spring through to Christmas, it's a great day out for everyone. Within easy driving distance is also the Snowdonia National Park to your west and the Shropshire Hills AONB to the south, which can provide a huge choice of outdoor activities, as well as incredible vistas and scenery. The Old Cart House can provide you with walks and countryside on your doorstep for an excellent Shropshire break.

Trefonen is a small village, located around 3 miles south-west of Oswestry, in Shropshire, with the name translating to 'village of the ash trees'. Offa's Dyke, the 8th century earthwork ran through the village and can still be seen today in small sections, with Offa's Dyke Path providing an excellent walking path and a great way to explore the area. Home to a few shops and a pub, this village can provide the essentials for your stay.

Lovely accommodation, a little bit off the main roads but when you arrive it’s well worth it, you are welcomed by lovely friendly owners and made most welcome, it’s a working farm environment and as we were there in the lambing season, it only added to the enjoyment of our holiday, absolutely great

In such a quiet area with most things within a very short drive from base the host Sarah and Pete where great and very helpful the kids even got to feed the lambs on the farm. Can’t rate the place enough……Perfect

We felt very very much "at home" from the moment we arrived and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. The surrounding countryside makes for a peaceful relaxing stay within easy reach of Oswestry. The Old Cart House is the perfect base for exploring, and we took advantage of some lovely walking and also a visit to the British Ironwork Centre, which exceeded our expectations. Thank you Sarah and Pete for sharing your beautiful property
