From the doorstep there are a wealth of walking opportunities with numerous footpaths leading through the surrounding farmland and unspoilt countryside. The village of Condover is a picturesque, historic village, which has its own social club, post office, and butcher’s shop. There are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities in the area with specific paths and quiet lanes to follow. There is plenty to see and do in the area, including visits to Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, the Long Mynd and the South Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These provide opportunities for hill walking, mountain biking and a range of other outdoor activities.
Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat; the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, farmer’s market, the castle, and the churches that dominate Shrewsbury’s famous skyline, only a 10-minute drive away. Lovely cottage, well equipped and lovely friendly hosts. Welcome basket included bread/butter, coffee pods and bottle of wine. Cosy warm cottage, plenty of space inside, well furnished and everything you'd need. Slept well every night in King size bed, 2nd bedroom had a Super King size bed too (can be twin if needed). Walk in shower downstairs in cloakroom off the utility, lovely bath in bathroom upstairs for a soak. Great base to see the area, we visited Shrewsbury, Carding Mill Valley, The Lawley, The Wrekin & RAF Cosford Air Museum.
