This historic, romantic, detached hideaway dates from 1750 and is built from local stone and oak. Surrounded by meadowland with wonderful views over the dramatic Shropshire Hills, steeped in myth and legend, peace and quiet preside over this location. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nature lovers will be enthralled with the abundance of wildlife that can be seen from the window. Set in the pretty rural hamlet of Pennerley, the barn nestles between the Stiperstones Nature Reserve and the Welsh borders. Close by are the towns of Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Bishop’s Castle and Clun. Horse riding can be found nearby. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

This is a simply wonderful holiday cottage. Every care has been put into making it comfortable, well equipped and a delightful retreat. It is in a very tranquil spot, and perfect for people looking to get away from it all.

30/1 - 6/2 What a wonderful tranquil retreat Meadow Barn is! This barn conversion is decorated and equipped to a very high specification. It really is a luxurious place to stay if you just want to escape the rat race of life, press pause and relax. The log fire is super cosy and the views are just heavenly. The bird feeders are regularly topped up and hours can be wasted just admiring the many different species that come to feed. Who needs the tv. (Don't worry, there is one if needs must). The welcome pack was truly appreciated and the hosts Steve & Rachel make you feel very welcome without being intrusive. A real retreat and one that we hope to revisit again!
