Guests say

The Granary in Shropshire receives high praise for its character, spaciousness, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the friendly owners, the peaceful countryside setting, and the added bonus of a games barn. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Reviews consistently mention the property being clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about minor issues such as cobwebs and a mouldy bath mat. The overall impression is that the property is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

The property's location is praised for its beautiful scenery and tranquillity, with easy access to local shops and attractions. Some guests mention occasional noise from farm vehicles, but this does not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback about the location.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with cosy beds and a warm welcome. Some mention the property being quirky and charming, adding to the comfort level. However, there are comments about steep stairs and a cramped en-suite, which could affect comfort for some visitors.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen and games barn, are generally appreciated. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a torn pool table and the need for updates in the bathroom, leading to a slightly lower score in this category.

Many reviews highlight the thoughtfulness of the owners, mentioning welcome gifts such as cake, milk, and flowers. While these gestures are warmly received, it is important to note that such gifts, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The granary is a lovely barn conversion so well done. We all loved the play barn and used it every day. The farmer and his family were lovely we loved feeding the calves every night and the farm cat soon made friends with our dog and came in every day. The granary is ideally positioned to visit all the tourist places, iron bridge was great. We would certainly love to book again.

The rooms are spacious and the double height sitting room and kitchen in this barn conversion are great spaces to spend time. When we opened the double doors from the kitchen through to the rest of the cottage, we felt intrigued and quite excited because the cottage was far bigger than we originally thought. The bedrooms were a decent size; as was the family bathroom. The mezzanine outside the master bedroom would be a useful space but the felt baize on the snooker table up there was savagely torn so the table was useless. Overall, the facilities are a little tired, a bit dated and in need of refreshing and some repairs but it is quite a cosy place to be. I imagine it will be chilly in the winter. We knew that towels would not be provided so I was prepared for that but I still consider it a negative; I would just choose somewhere else (with towels) in future.

Very well equipped cottage, in a great location, within easy reach of activities and attractions. Would definitely stay again. Beautiful setting too!
