The village of Farley consists of a small scattering of cottages and farms on the Alton Towers estate. Alton Towers has rides and attractions aimed at everyone, including white knuckle rides, Toyland for the younger guests, boating on the lake, magnificent gardens and rides on the cable car. Nearby, the market town of Ashbourne features an array of antique stores and a choice of pubs and restaurants. Attractions like Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Dovedale, and the Derbyshire Villages of Ilam, Hartington and are also within easy reach.

We found the house to be spacious and comfortable. There were 10 of us altogether and we never felt we were tripping up over each other. We loved the log burner which made the living space feel very cosy. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything you could need for preparing and cooking meals. It's also an ideal location for Alton Towers and took us 4 minutes (we timed it!) to get to the entrance by foot. The owners were quick to respond when we contacted them in regard to an issue which was swiftly rectified. The only negatives I would say are that the house could do with a little TLC. There are broken tiles on the kitchen floor and the downstairs shower leaked. This did not detract from our lovely stay though.

Fridge door missing all shelves, blackout blinds missing in some bedrooms, no shower screen/curtain in main bathroom. Beds uncomfortable and lumpy. Only one very small bin throughout the whole property (none in bathrooms or bedrooms). Tiny TVâs in the rooms. Wi-Fi doesnât work throughout the whole property, only really in the living room. Grubby throughout. Positives: perfect location for Alton Towers. Easy check-in. Some takeaways deliver. Plenty of off road parking. It has the potential to be an amazing property but attention to detail is missing.

Rooms all spacious, plenty of room for a group of us. Only areas for improvement would be to mow the communal grassy area. More like a field so hard for the kids to play. Outdoor bench has seen better days and in need of a bit of repair or ideally swap for comfier outdoor seating.
