Originally renovated in 2008, this characterful retreat enjoys a superb waterfront setting and offers a watersports paradise with direct lake access, a private jetty, floating pontoons and a wonderful position on the water's edge.

Arrive and make use of the off-road parking for up to 4 cars before following the steps down to the property, where the calm setting and private fenced grounds create an inviting first impression. With outdoor spaces designed to make the most of its unique location, it's easy to settle into holiday mode from the moment you arrive. Step inside and discover a welcoming living/dining room, where you can gather together after a day of exploring, sink into the seating beside the glow of the woodburning stove, or enjoy leisurely meals with the lake as your backdrop. A bright summer room provides an additional sitting area and dining space, with doors opening onto the decking terrace, creating the perfect spot to unwind with a morning coffee or evening drink by the water.

Just beyond, the kitchen is equipped for self-catered stays, featuring a gas cooker, dishwasher and serving counter with stools, while a beer fridge keeps your beverage of choice perfectly chilled for relaxed evenings with family and friends. A separate utility room with a washing machine and WC ensures less time spent on chores and more time enjoying your surroundings. As the evening draws in, retire to one of three inviting bedrooms. Two doubles provide cushy spaces to unwind after days spent outdoors, including a captain's bedroom with glass doors opening onto the decking and a second double with patio doors leading outside, while the triple bunk room, featuring a double bed below and a single above, is ideal for younger guests or those sharing.

Completing the interior is the family bathroom, where you can choose between a relaxing soak in the bath or a refreshing shower before another day of adventure. Outside is where Cool Cabin truly comes to life. Start the morning with coffee on the decking, gather around the picnic bench for lunch in the fresh air, or spend the evening beneath the covered bar area, where a Smeg fridge keeps refreshments close at hand, while the gas barbecue and outdoor pool table set the scene for sociable get-togethers. A patio area also hosts a pod-style den with power and heating, creating a fun retreat for children to relax and play.

Those looking to embrace the waterfront location can enjoy direct access to the lake from the private jetty and floating pontoons, with a slipway providing convenient launching for canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Guests are welcome to bring their own craft and make the most of the exceptional waterside setting. The wood-fired hot tub now offers a refreshing cold plunge experience. For an additional charge, the electric sauna pod provides another way to relax while soaking up the unique surroundings. A shop and pub can both be reached within a short drive, while nearby Leek offers a wider range of amenities, independent shops and places to dine.

Venture into the Peak District National Park, where you can admire the dramatic rock formations of The Roaches, walk the scenic trails around Tittesworth Reservoir, and discover sweeping views across some of England's most celebrated landscapes. Set in an idyllic waterside location, The Cool Cabin provides a peaceful haven for relaxation, with stunning lake views, abundant wildlife, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes it the perfect escape from a busy lifestyle, Cool Cabin is a superb base for making unforgettable memories beside the water.

The village of Rudyard enjoys a delightful countryside location. A certain Lockwood Kipling and his fiancée Alice Macdonald met on the shores of the lake and named their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling (1865 – 1936), poet, novelist and short story writer has made this Staffordshire village world famous. The lake, a beauty spot and one of the most romantic places in Britain, is a family centre for picnics, boating, walking and fishing as well as the steam railway. Nearby Leek is a thriving town with good pubs and restaurants and many antique shops. Nearby the beautiful Manifold Valley cuts a course through superb scenery and is a delight for both walkers and cyclists with the "Manifold Trail".
