Shakespeare Lodge Pet Friendly offers a pleasant stay with its stunning location by the river and quiet surroundings. Guests appreciate the spacious living areas, welcoming touches, and the convenience of on-site facilities. While some guests mention the lodge could benefit from a bit of TLC and more comfortable beds, the overall experience is enhanced by the thoughtful gestures and cleanliness.
The lodge is generally described as clean, with guests noting it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. However, one review mentioned mould in the bathroom, suggesting room for improvement in some areas.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the river, quiet park setting, and easy access to town and local amenities, including a water taxi. The scenic and convenient setting contributes positively to the guests' experiences.
Guests find the living and dining areas spacious, but the bedrooms are noted to be tight, with some comments on the beds being thin and not very supportive. Comfort levels seem to vary among guests.
The lodge is equipped with necessary amenities, but several reviews point out issues with maintenance, such as non-working items and the need for TLC. The presence of a clothes washer and dishwasher is appreciated, but the lack of spare cutlery and non-smart TV are noted drawbacks.
Guests mention nice welcoming touches like a dog welcome box, chocolates, and a bottle of wine, which add to the experience. It should be noted that while these gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
Three bedroom lodge with a master double bedroom, wall mounted flatscreen TV and en suite shower room. Second bedroom has two single beds and the third bedroom has a set of bunk beds (suitable for children), again with a fitted wardrobe. There is a family bathroom with a bath with shower over.

The lodge was very tired. Lack of maintenance meant there were light shades missing and clock, light bulbs and remote not working. The furniture was scuffed and watermarked. The outlook was onto other lodges with no plants or grass to soften the look.

All in all had a pleasant stay, the location on the river was the standout feature, but the lodge was not of the same standard that we usually have.

The Lodge was to a good standard, no spare cutlery if there was more than six, or actually wanted to cook, the plumbing was not very good as both cistern push buttons needed a ten ton weight to use them, there was a wall clock which did not work as there was no battery in it either fit a battery or take the clock away
