Fantastic accommodation for two in the centre of the lovely village of Fenny Compton surrounded by beautiful countryside. Dassett View, part of the owners’ residential property, Bayards, was built of the local Horton stone. Dating back to mid-1600s as a cattle shed, it was converted to a residential accommodation in the 1970s and has recently been refurbished by the current owners. It is a listed building and sits on the edge on the village conservation area. This self-catering accommodation comprises a dedicated access to a well fitted kitchen incorporating everything you. Up the oak staircase brings you into the combined bedroom, sitting room and dining area which has been well designed with the guests comfort in mind. The fabulous bathroom offers ambient lighting so you can relax and unwind in the free standing bathtub after a day’s sightseeing. Views from the living area look across a horse paddock towards Burton Dassett hills.
The village of Fenny Compton, which is just a few miles north of the market town of Banbury, enjoys a friendly pub serving good food and a local shop for all your essentials. More comprehensive local amenities can be found in the local market towns of Banbury or Southam. The property is well situated to allow visitors to take advantage of the many local circular walks including routes along the Oxford Canal where you can enjoy watching the narrowboats sail by and lovely walks along the tow path and to Burton Dassett Hills country park where you can enjoy a picnic or even flying a kite.
Trips to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Leamington Spa are great towns to explore during your stay and there is easy access to the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can meander through country roads stopping off at picturesque points and country pubs along the way. The National Trust property of Farnborough Hall is just over 2½ miles away and opens a couple of days a week during the summer months. Bicester Village, famous for its shopping village is within easy driving distance as is Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. Pub and restaurant 350 yards.

Perfect place stop over for a few days when working locally. Very well appointed, decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Appreciated the deep bath, the complimentary biscuits, and sky sports on the TV! (Although the streaming connection was a bit flaky) . Will definitely look to stay here again when I’m down again.

Alan and Helen are lovely hosts, leaving milk, biscuits and crisps as a welcome parcel in the kitchen (milk in fridge).The accommodation was beautifully decorated, and very spacious, and allows dogs, which was great for us, because we took our Labrador along.The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything in it that we needed to cook a meal. The bathroom was beautiful, with a separate shower cubicle and a huge bath tub, and underfloor heating!The accommodation was just a few minutes walk from a very nice pub, The Merrie Lion, the food was delicious, and a co-op shops just past the pub. The village is beautiful and not far from a country park with beautiful views.

Absolutely loved this property and would stay Here again in a heartbeat. Lovely to meet And interact with our hosts who could not have been any nicer or more helpful. The place is incredible and the we had some lovely Walks around the village with our dog. A great base for exploring the local area!
