Guests consistently praise The Smithy for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped facilities, including a hot tub. The property offers a warm welcome with a thoughtful touch, though specific gifts are not guaranteed. Its location is appreciated for being a good base for exploring the area.
Reviewers frequently mention that the property is 'spotlessly clean', 'bright and attractive', and 'very clean', indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The property is described as a 'good touring base' with 'lovely places to visit within a range of 10 minutes to an hour's drive', suggesting a convenient and desirable location.
Guests find the accommodation 'comfortable', with 'comfy beds' and a 'lovely shower'. One mention of an 'old sofa' slightly detracts from an otherwise high comfort level.
The property is praised for being 'very well equipped' and having a 'lovely hot tub', though one guest suggested improvements to the hot tub area and another had issues with the WiFi connection.
While guests appreciate the welcome pack and mention fresh eggs, due to the lack of consistent reference to gifts and the specific mention of not receiving dog treats, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness. However, the hosts are noted for their friendliness and welcoming nature.

We had a warm welcome to this small country retreat, which has a hot tub with a view of the nearby treeline and frequently the chickens, geese or single sheep from the small farm. The accomodation was bright and attractive, clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. We had various days out, including finding some excellent pubs for lunch, plus bought food to eat in from the various local farm shops. Our elderly pet loved her stay as well.
