About this property

This well-presented, stable conversion lies next to the owner’s home in the heart of the city of Worcester, Worcestershire. Dating back 200 years whilst being within walking distance to bars, eateries, the Cathedral and the Racecourse, The Stables is an excellent base for two couples and families seeking an escape to Worcester. Upon arrival a gated entrance leads you into the off-road parking area. Head through the front door into the open-plan living space, complete with underfloor heating and high vaulted ceilings to give a light and airy feel. Take over the kitchen, amply-equipped with all the necessities to rustle up a hearty feast, which can be enjoyed at the dining table. Carry the conversion over to the sitting area, where you can kick back and catch-up on your favourite shows from the Smart TV. The first bedroom lies off the living space and offers a double bed, whilst the gleaming adjacent shower room is where you can freshen up. A few steps down leads to the master double, benefitting from an its own en-suite shower room. Awaken from a leisurely slumber and choose a coffee from the Nespresso pod machine before heading out to the garden and thinking about the day ahead. When you’re ready to explore the city, within a short walk there are plenty of bars, eateries, and restaurants, along with independent shops and high-street retailers for those looking to get their shopping fix. The city is home to an array of well-preserved medieval buildings, including the Tudor House Museum and Greyfriars' House and Garden, which offer glimpses into the city's past, whilst The Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum showcases a diverse collection of art and artifacts. Head for leisurely strolls along the River Severn, explore Gheluvelt Park and Cripplegate Park, enjoy a race day at Worcester Racecourse or tee off at the beautiful Worcester Golf Course. If exploration takes you further afield, the scenic splendour of the Cotswolds cannot be missed, best known for its array of quaint towns and villages home to picture-perfect architecture. Choose The Stables for a splendid retreat to Worcester.

The ancient cathedral city of Worcester, dating back to 400BC, is the birthplace of the composer Sir Edward Elgar and offers visitors an array of amenities including individual shops, traditional pubs, tea rooms and restaurants. Many festivals can be enjoyed throughout the year including the Three Choirs (it is claimed this is the oldest in the British Isles!), Music and camra beer festivals. The Swan Theatre also hosts both professional and amateur productions throughout the year. The Severn Way, Monarch’s Way and Millennium Way are close by as well as Spetchley Park, with its beautiful historic house, 30-acre gardens and parkland making a lovely day out for all the family. The nearby picturesque market town of Pershore boasts a magnificent Norman abbey, Georgian architecture and an excellent range of shops and cafes, while the surrounding countryside is famous for fruit growing and market gardening, and Bredon Hill, just south of the village, is home to an Iron Age Fort, Roman earthworks and a number of ancient standing stones. The Worcestershire town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age and is situated on the eastern side of the magnificent Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which forms a 9-mile range of ancient rock offering miles of footpaths and bridleways, with long-distance views in all directions. A picturesque destination for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

A high standard in every way with lovely decor. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Great advantage having parking in such a residential area. Jasmine was most attentive to our needs. Thank you.

The cottage was perfect for this . There was ample parking for our two cars and the cottage was warm and welcoming as you enter the large airy room with high ceiling . Stunning . There was a welcome tray and fresh flowers too ! The large bedrooms are quite separate with a shower room to one and the master has an en-suite . All has beautiful decor and very clean . It’s only a short walk to city centre with lots of shops and also the huge Christmas market which we loved . It is also near to the river which even on a wet day is beautiful and we saw lots of swans . This cottage was perfect for our needs . Loved it !
