A journey along the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway is another superb activity to do whilst here, offering a leisurely way to soak up the scenery of the national park, whilst avid ramblers will be delighted by the multitude of walks that are on offer here. The charming market town of Skipon with its grand 11th century castle is also just a short distance away, whilst the likes of Harrogate and Howarth are slightly further afield but promise to be memorable days out. For those who don’t want to venture so far there are many lovely local countryside walks within easy reach of the cottage, with Ilkley Moor just 10 minutes’ walk away, with its iconic “Cow and Calf” stones.
