About this property

Hoot Cottage is a romantic, one-bedroom holiday home built in the 19th century and tucked away in the beautiful village of Haworth, West Yorkshire. With a charming, stone-built façade, tastefully-presented interiors, and a fabulous location just a brief stroll from the closest shop and pub, this charming dwelling welcomes a couple seeking a relaxing, self-catered escape just south of the brilliant Yorkshire Dales National Park. Step inside your new home to find a collection of well-appointed living spaces, complete with thoughtful touches and plenty of original features. Whip up a delicious meal within the true heart of the home - the kitchen.

Fully-equipped, you can rustle up a delightful meal for two to be enjoyed in the sitting room, as you relax on the Chesterfield sofa in front of TV and the decorative fire, the latter of which is set within a fantastic, decorative stone inglenook fireplace. When you and your partner grow tired, head upstairs to the sumptuous double bedroom, where you can lay down and catch your valuable sleep ahead of a brand-new day. Refresh yourself under the elegant rainfall shower before you head out to explore what your local area has to offer. Begin your journey in the beautiful village of Haworth - home to the iconic sites and attractions of the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Haworth Steam Railway, the pristine Central Park, and the cobbled high street lined with independent shops and galleries to explore.

Venture further afield to the enchanting market town of Skipton, with its famous castle, the lively canal waterfront, and a range of restaurants and pubs for you and your partner to enjoy. Here, you can take a stroll along the towpaths and explore the area’s enchanting countryside. The quaint town of Hebden Bridge is accessible by car, which is nestled in the Calder Valley, or travel to neighbouring Keighley to discover the historic Worth Valley Railway and enjoy a round at the Branshaw Golf Club or brush up on history at the Cliffe Castle museum. For outdoor explorers, the famous Yorkshire Dales National Park is a must-visit, with a range of activities and breathtaking views to discover.

For the ultimate getaway in Yorkshire, look no further than Hoot Cottage.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

Parking outside. The cottage is small but very cosy for two. Lovely bedroom, excellent bathroom, we loved the walk-in shower. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed, including very sharp knives. There was a generous welcome pack, bread, milk, beer, etc. which was lovely and very welcome after a long drive. It's ideal for a visit to Haworth and surrounding countryside. Corner shop just over the road. It’s walkable down and up into Haworth, bit steep in parts. There are local buses that can take you up there from just around the corner. We used the bus to get back after the pub! Louise, the host was friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Would recommend.
