The cobbled main street is home to a plethora of independent shops, pubs and cafés. There are miles of public footpaths in and around both villages to explore, with the most popular being around the reservoirs and to the Brontë Falls. The Brontë Way takes you over Brontë Bridge and out onto the bleak moors to Top Withins. For fans of The Railway Children, the Keighley and Worth Valley Steam Railway, which featured in the film, is a must visit and can be found at the bottom of the village.

Further afield the dales villages of Skipton with its medieval castle, Ilkley and Otley are there to enjoy. The spa town of Harrogate, boasting Bettys Tea Rooms, spa, theatre and fabulous shopping should also feature on your holiday itinerary. Shop ½ mile, pub 50 yards and restaurant 2 miles.
