Also near Halifax, Shibden Hall offers an absorbing visit, taking you through characterful historic interiors, out into the surrounding grounds for a slow wander, then on to nearby parkland paths that invite a longer leg stretch.

This town is in a prime location at the lower end of the Calder Valley, as well as sitting alongside the Calder and Hebble Navigation waterway. Brighouse hosts a weekly market in the heart of the town centre and offers its visitors a great choice of independent shops, restaurants and cafes. Additionally, the town offers a scenic walking route, The Calderdale Way, a 50-mile circular route exploring the area's hills, moors and valleys. Brighouse is in a great location for exploring some of the larger towns in the West Yorkshire region. To the North West, Halifax is a short drive away and has plenty of attractions worth visiting, including the Eureka! interactive museum, the medieval manor of Shibden Hall and the Rochdale Canal. South of Brighouse is the market town of Huddersfield, a great place for outdoor enthusiasts who can walk Castle Hill, venture around Greenhead Park and walk alongside the Huddersfield Broad Canal. Brighouse is well-placed for exploring the vibrant towns in this part of Yorkshire, as well as being just 7.5 miles from the city of Bradford.
