Guests say

Waterside Lodge Six offers a modern, well-equipped retreat with a hot tub and log burner, ideal for a relaxing getaway. Guests appreciate the clean, comfortable accommodation with thoughtful touches like milk in the fridge. The location is praised for its tranquility and proximity to local amenities, though some guests note minor maintenance issues and suggest improvements for storage and heating.

Most guests found the lodge to be clean and well-presented, with some exceptions noting areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning. The presence of a dirty dishwasher and outdoor furniture was mentioned, impacting the overall cleanliness score.

The lodge's location is generally well-regarded for its quiet setting and nearby walks, with easy access to Brighouse and Elland. However, some guests found it tricky to locate in the dark, slightly affecting the score.

Guests enjoyed comfortable beds and the cosy atmosphere provided by the log burner. Some concerns were raised about noise levels due to the open-plan design and the lack of heating in bedrooms, which has been mitigated with portable heaters.

The lodge is praised for its modern amenities and well-equipped kitchen, though some guests reported maintenance issues such as a broken couch and non-functioning hot tub jets. The need for additional cooking pans and shower doors was also mentioned.

Guests were pleased with the thoughtful provision of essentials like towels and milk. While some guests received extra amenities, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are offered at the discretion of the owners and may not be a consistent feature.

Just returned from a long weekend staying in lodge six. After reading reviews about the lodge getting cold during the winter months I had a slight concern as the temps were due to drop when we were there. The lodge was very well heated and if anything it got too warm at times. The lodge was spacious and very well equipped. Smart TV was a very nice touch and the WiFi was very good, streaming videos without any issues. Lovely walks along the canal into brighouse where there are plenty of places to eat, drink and explore. As others have mention, not ideal if you have access disabilities due to the stairs and the steep bank leading down to the lodges. Overall, a fantastic weekend and we would definitely return. My only very small gripe was the very low cold water pressure on the kitchen sink. Even filling a kettle was a pain. Maybe something the staff can look at and repair.

We stayed for 4 days, to see in the new year. This lodge was absolutely beautiful, with owners providing extra amenities upon arrival for our stay. The under floor heating in the bathrooms are a lovely touch. Heating is all electric, with two fitted heaters in the ensuite bedrooms to which it can become very hot however upon turning off to go to bed, can wake very cold however easily certified once putting the heaters on. Only one portable heater, meaning one bedroom was without a heater. The outside area did smell strongly, probably due to the area being a swamp. The hot tub was attended to daily early morning however on our last full day, nobody came until 4pm to fill and treat, even after numerous messaging, to be told they were prioritising lodges that were due to have arrivals, resulting in us not being able to enjoy the experience. We loved the log burner, finding it very relaxing mornings and evenings. Great stay with extended family.

Spacious, clean, well-equipped accommodation. Quiet location although a little tricky to locate in the dark! Lovely private veranda/ balcony overlooking the canal, one with hot-tub. Supermarkets available in nearby Brighouse, eateries in Brighouse and Elland - nothing immediate within easy walking distance. There didn't seem to be programmed central heating in the property, each room with a plug-in electric heater. If back in the area, would stay again. We used this as a base to visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park (half-hour drive away).
