Guests say

Waterside Lodge Thirteen offers a delightful stay with stunning views and wildlife, comfortable beds, and a hot tub that adds to the experience. While some guests noted the property could benefit from refurbishment and maintenance, the lodge's cleanliness and the natural beauty of its location are consistently praised. The property provides a good value family stay with ample facilities, despite some areas needing attention.

The lodge is generally described as clean and tidy, with several guests noting its cleanliness upon arrival. However, there are mentions of a mould issue in some en-suite rooms, which impacts the overall cleanliness score.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to nature reserves, offering great scenery and wildlife. The presence of local amenities and easy parking are also positive aspects, although some guests mentioned the site is not within walking distance to shops.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the lodge spacious, with a cosy sofa and additional throws provided. However, some guests reported issues with heating and noise levels, and the separate third bedroom was not ideal for families, affecting the comfort score.

The facilities, including a hot tub, dishwasher, and washing machine, are appreciated, but several reviews mention the need for maintenance and updates. Issues with kitchen units, stairs, and outdoor areas are noted, leading to a moderate score in this category.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Brighouse is a vibrant yet traditional town with ample amenities, a weekly market and a reputation for hosting great festivals. It also has its own train station which provides connections to a variety of West Yorkshire towns and villages, including Hebden Bridge and Halifax, as well as offering direct services to the major tourist attractions of both Manchester and Leeds. Finally, the beautiful cobbled streets of Haworth, once home to the famous Brontë sisters, can be reached in around 30 minutes, and both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks in under an hour and a half. Me and my partner came for 4 nights and we had a really nice time. The location is stunning and it can be really peaceful. We had a hen do as neighbours for our last two nights, and the experience was vastly different to the first two nights. Just a risk to consider for anyone wanting to stay, with them being wooden lodges, you really can hear everything so hearing ‘chug chug chug’ at 4am was certainly an experience. All in all, lovely place with great views and all the equipment that you’d need to have a nice stay.

Stayed for a 2 night weekend with 5 friends and had a great time. Twin rooms were all great with clean white bedding and comfy beds. Great set up with 2 en-suite and one with a bathroom next door. All bedrooms and bathrooms very clean and modern. Having the living room upstairs was excellent and worked really well being open plan. The flooring upstairs was a bit tired and the kitchen could have done with a few more bits and pieces but I think for the price it’s really good value for the size and view. Hot tub worked well and was clean. Woman came to clean it on check Ph on Saturday morning too without needing to disturb us. We were going to a gig at Piece Hall and although a £20-£25 Uber ride away I was glad we were a bit out in the sticks. Drove to Brighouse Sunday morning after checkout and had a great breakfast at Mamil. Definitely recommend this accommodation 😊
