Guests say

The Hay Barn in Doncaster is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cleanliness, peacefulness, and friendly staff. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable setting, and the added luxury of a hot tub. While there is a mention of a damp smell and a less comfortable bed, the overall sentiment is positive, with guests looking forward to returning.

Guests consistently noted the property as spotlessly clean, with one even being a cleaning business owner who was particularly impressed. There was no mention of any cleanliness issues apart from a damp smell due to a draining problem in the shower.

There are positive comments about the location being peaceful and the property having a brilliant view, but there are not enough details to accurately score the location.

The property is generally found to be comfortable and relaxing. However, there was a negative remark about the size of the bed and the comfort of the mattress, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are highly regarded, with mentions of a fully equipped kitchen and a hot tub. The accommodation is described as excellent, although there was an issue with shower drainage and towel drying.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category.

The shower didn’t drain very well, started to smell damp towards the end of our stay. Nowhere to really dry/air the towels so these also started to smell damp. The bed was quite small despite being a double and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable

I have no faults at all with this weekend away. The accommodation was lovely. A super peaceful and relaxing break. The staff Dawn and Col were very friendly and welcoming. I have a cleaning business and usually when I go away I notice bits that aren't up to standard but seriously the accommodation was wonderfully clean and tidy. The cleaners do a great job. Decoration wise it was nicely kept. It looked quirky and fresh. Alot of places you go have marks on the walls or flaky paint but this wasn't tired looking at all. The hot tub was great. We stayed in the Hay Barn which was in a great position to look out towards the lake and it also had a cover above us. I definitely would love to come back here. It was exactly what me and my partner needed after months and months of none stop work/busy life. It was the perfect place to wind down and catch up on some rest. Thank you so much!
