.

The popular seaside town of Withernsea, lies in the East Riding of Yorkshire. This cosy, coastal haven has a relaxed atmosphere, the perfect location for a family break. The flat, rural landscape surrounding the town offers some magnificent sweeping views and a wild, windswept atmosphere to blow the cobwebs away! The surrounding villages offer some historical landmarks, including a lighthouse now housing a museum, a Napoleonic fortress and a huge nuclear bunker which runs award-winning tours. Withernsea's sand and pebble beach boasts a grand tower-like entrance, plenty of delicious fish and chip cafés nearby and, further along the coast, the spindly and atmospheric Spurn Peninsula that stretches three miles out to sea. The cottage we stayed in for 3 weeks was cosy, I would have liked a door curtain just for extra coziness on cold nights. The living areas are set out well, the furniture is worn, but functional, and in keeping with the accommodation. Comfortable beds are very most important to me, we had a problem with the main bed mattress springs, I spoke with Tim, and he changed it that day. It wasn’t perfect, but it was much better. So I’d say personally, check bed comfort for guests. We cooked meals, did laundry etc and it was really nice to have a change of scenery and a much needed break. And I would book again.

1 small cheap loo roll meant we had to purchase more on specific journey to the shop. A small drop of washing up liquid and a tired old sponge for washing pots was also annoying. It all stunk of penny pinching. Towels were very old and all extremely rough. Flooring was like walking on a boat. Sofa should have been renewed 5 years ago. Wrongly expected a smart TV. Overall, I would not return or recommend this property.

On one night a light fitting fell out of the ceiling. Two of the radiators didn't seem to work. The property and linen were clean.
