we have stayed in many cottages over the years for short breaks and I have to say that this cottage is by far, the best we have ever stayed at. EVERYTHING was perfect. cleanliness was great but best of all, everything was fully prepared for us to just walk in and feel at home immediately. lots of personal touches that we didn't expect like some wood for the fire to get us going, matches, firelighters, an excellent range of crockery and cutlery (massive mugs ! :) etc). toaster, microwave, fridge freezer, wifi was great, kids play station thing (that we didn't use). The shower and bath was excellent with a drench shower and a hand held option. Huge bath. the restaurant pub is literally 30 steps away and called the Dakre Arms and is closed on mondays and tuesdays, but serves fabulous food. 5 stars! the Black Swan pub is about 100m away and is also good. The chippy was ok tbh and very reasonably priced. we drove in to Hornsea and had a nice lunch at the Marine (free car parking there - just enter your registration when you go in) and overlooks the sea. We also drove to Scarborough, which was nice, as was York, although very expensive to park - £4 per hour!! The minster is £20 per person to visit!A really lovely break and an unbelievably lovely cosy cottage. Thank you.
