Russet is a romantic hideaway enjoying a private and peaceful location within a sheep grazed orchard and sharing its surroundings with another holiday property, Greengage (E4424). The accommodation is all on one level, has an open plan layout and includes a wood burner in the lounge and picturesque views from its patio. Skipsea’s sandy beach, two pubs, a restaurant and shops are just under a mile, and the local leisure park’s gym and indoor swimming pool are two miles.
Further up the coast there are the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough. Bempton Cliffs bird reserve is well worth a visit where you will see puffins, guillemots and seals in their natural habitat. It’s a perfect base to see what Yorkshire has to offer from the North York Moors to the east coast and The Wolds there’s so much to see and do. York, Scarborough and Pickering are about an hour’s drive. Sledmere House is just one of many stately homes you can visit as well as Sewerby Hall and Burton Agnes Hall, all close by. For evening entertainment there’s plenty in Bridlington with The Spa hosting International shows all year round.

The walking in the area is not challenging so we had a relaxing stay. The cottage had everything we needed and the owners were friendly.The local pub was welcoming with good beer and not too expensive.

Such a wonderful find, from stepping inside the cottage it felt like home, with everything you would need while staying there. Ideal location for exploring the area and coastline. The welcome basket left by Andrew, Sue, Lucy and Emma was an added bonus and really appreciated - thank you. We would recommend to our family and friends to stay here and hope to revisit soon.
