Quietly situated on the Florida Keys Park, this spacious lodge enjoys a partially enclosed lawned garden and a large decked area, ideal for al fresco dining. Carefully furnished, the lodge provides a relaxing base from which to explore the surrounding area. There are walking and cycling trails from the doorstep and scenic drives through the relatively undiscovered Yorkshire Wolds, which inspired the famous Hockney paintings. The Burnby Hall Gardens, Yorkshire Air Museum and the Museum of Farming are all close by, and during the summer months children will love the York Maze. Wilberfoss, 1½ miles, and Pocklington, 4 miles, offer an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Grimston Bar park and ride, 6 miles, provides hassle free access into the ancient city of York and its numerous attractions including the magnificent minster, castle, York Art Gallery, railway museums and the York Dungeon. Journey back in time at the Jorvik Centre and delve into the history of chocolate making at the Chocolate Story. An abundance of restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are hidden among the cobbled streets, along with a variety of independent shops. Out of town stores at Monks Cross and the designer outlet make York a shopper’s paradise. Enjoy a day out at Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall. The North Yorkshire Moors are within easy reach, and the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey, Whitby and Scarborough are all within an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
