Guests say

Clouds Hill is a property that offers a memorable experience with its indoor pool and spacious layout, set in a beautiful location. Guests have praised the property's potential for luxury, the attentive host, and the fresh, clean bedding. While some guests have noted areas in need of TLC, the charm of the house and the joy it brings to family gatherings shine through.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property to be clean with fresh bedding, while others noted issues with hygiene, such as dust and mould. The property appears to be well-kept by some accounts, but there are mentions of it needing a deeper clean.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to accurately assess the location. No specific comments about the property's surroundings or accessibility were provided, thus a score cannot be given.

Comfort received mixed feedback. Some guests found the beds and sofas uncomfortable and in need of repair, while others reported a cosy and homely atmosphere. The presence of a pool was frequently mentioned as a highlight, despite some comments about its temperature.

Facilities and maintenance seem to be a concern, with several guests reporting broken furniture, issues with blinds, and non-working gym equipment. While the pool and spaciousness are highly regarded, the need for repairs and updates to maintain the property's high standards is evident.

The reviews do not mention any gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, while guests have appreciated the host's responsiveness, there is no basis to score this category. It should be noted that any gifts, if provided, are a bonus and not guaranteed.

The seating in the lounge and swimming area are all broken and uncomfortable, every room has at least one broken blind, lots of black mould around most of the bedroom and bathroom windows. The shower in the swimming changing room leaks making it unusable, Sky tv advertised but all week just said No Signal. Rubbish left, half a bottle of water on the floor in the living room, empty light bulb boxes on the floor, broken strips off window blinds left lying around. Food left in the freezer, both the fridge and the freezer were filthy dirty inside. Only a few odd drinking glasses not enough for amount of people., door handles broken, light bulbs flashing, quilts on the beds very thin, beds uncomfortable with no mattresses protectors, no plastic bags in any of the bathroom bins. Bins were empties on the tue, the bin was then locked, contacted the number in the book to be told to leave the rubbish bag at the side of the bin, the house keeper will have a look for the key, next morning the bag had ben ripped open and rubbish all over the drive, rest of the week we had to keep all the rubbish stored in the house because the bin was never opened. The owners clearly haven't spent any money on the property since 2014. We will not be booking again.

Some windows had mould and mildew, blinds/furniture and furnishings had seen better days (ripped cushion covers and poorly made beds). Glassware was inadequate for the potential number of occupants, using the oven tripped the electrics (although we were given clear instructions so we could find the fuse box) and the pint of milk supplied was out of date by our arrival date. Top drawer of dishwasher was difficult to pull out and gym equipment was rusty. Definitely not the luxury stay we were expecting. Would not stay here again.

Whilst I understand some of the previous comments regarding small maintenance issues (which are easily resolved), this did not detract from our overall experience. We would go back again.
