Guests say

Masongill Lodge is consistently praised for its beautiful setting, cleanliness, and spaciousness, offering a comfortable and well-equipped retreat. Guests enjoy the peaceful location, ideal for family gatherings and walking holidays. The garden and housekeeper receive special mentions for their excellence.

Guests frequently commend the lodge for its immaculate condition upon arrival, indicating a high standard of cleanliness maintained by the housekeeper.

The lodge's location is celebrated for its tranquillity and proximity to walking trails, with easy access to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, making it a favoured spot for nature enthusiasts.

The property is described as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with plenty of space and sitting areas. However, a few guests noted that some bedrooms, particularly the twin room, could be warmer.

The lodge is well-equipped and appreciated for its character and modern conveniences. Some guests suggest updates are needed for the main bathroom and bedroom facilities, and there is a mention of the lack of internet instructions.

While guests express satisfaction with the welcome hamper and the housekeeper's helpfulness, there is insufficient information to determine if gifts are a consistent offering, thus the score is set to null.

Masongill Lodge is a splendid, Grade II listed two-storey property, built in 1709 and situated just within the western boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the border with Lancashire and Cumbria, a stone's through from the pretty village of Ingleton and the sought after market town of Kirkby Lonsdale.

The cottage sits within its own grounds in the small hamlet of Masongill, a dozen houses along half a mile of single track, no-through road which leads directly onto the fells over looking Inglebrough, one of North Yorkshire's Three Peaks.

As you enter through the original porch, you are transported into a stylish drawing room where you can relax after a busy day exploring the Dales. A wood burning stove will keep you warm and cosy whatever the weather. Make culinary memories using delicious local Yorkshire produce in the stunning kitchen with its four-oven Aga and french doors opening out onto the garden where alfresco dining can be enjoyed around the comfortable outside furniture seating eight guests.

The first floor offers four delightful bedrooms, two with their very own en-suite bath or shower room and further family bathroom, all of which boast countryside views through the historic mullion windows.

From the well tended plantsman's garden and two paddocks there are beautiful views to the west as far as the Irish sea, and to the east to the summit of Ingleborough. Masongill Lodge is in an ideal location for an outdoor break with plenty of scenic walking and cycling directly from the front door of the property. Guests of Masongill Lodge will be spoilt for choice when it come to dining out, whether it be a light lunch at The Falls Bar and Kitchen or an evening meal at the Marton Arms, just 5 minutes drive away.

Lovely charming building with loads of character based in a very quiet little hamlet. Spacious and had everything we needed including a continuous supply of logs for the two log burners which made things very cosy. We had a great time with friends taking in some stunning local walks. Would definitely visit again.

Masongill Lodge provides well appointed and spacious accommodation. We had a very relaxing week there. The large garden is an additional benefit when the sun is out and there is an outside dining table and chairs. The surroundings are very quiet. It would have been useful to have a micro wave and the bedroom immediately above the Aga was reported as being overly warm during the night.
