Austwick beck runs through the village, providing a pretty setting for an afternoon stroll, while the market town of Settle is a short distance away, offering its own selection of amenities and attractions. Head to The Folly, a museum and house of mystery, enjoy a round of golf at the golf club, stroll beside the River Ribble and see the magnificent waterfall of Stainforth Force. Head over to Ingleton for the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, a 4-mile trail that showcases a variety of plant life and geological features, and be within easy reach of White Scar Cave, the UK's longest show cave, filled with subterranean passages, waterfalls and caverns, and climb one of Yorkshire's three peaks, Ingleborough, standing at over 700m and offering stunning views as far as Morecambe Bay from its summit. Low Bank is the ideal retreat for walkers seeking the best of the Yorkshire Dales countryside.

Austwick is a charming village, situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, arguably one of the finest areas for walking in the region. With limestone pavements and scars, caves and open moors, the area has a wealth of natural interest and there are wonderful cycle tracks and walks on the doorstep. Austwick boasts a local pub serving excellent home cooked meals and a country hotel for something a little more special, as well as a shop and Post Office for visitors’ daily requirements. Very quiet location. Great communication with owner before our arrival. Local pub that had a patisserie was a welcome bonus. Would definitely recommend.

The bungalow was perfect for us and nothing had been overlooked. It’s an absolute credit to its owners. Plenty of walking around the village and good base for travelling around the Yorkshire Dales. Enjoyed Low Bank so much we have booked a return visit next year.
