Guests say

Ribblestones is a spacious cottage in a charming village, praised for its stunning location and proximity to local amenities and walks. Guests appreciate the provided basics and the property's potential for a cosy stay, though some attention to maintenance and additional investments are suggested.

The property was described as clean on arrival by one guest, but others noted the need for a professional oven clean and general attention to cleanliness. The mixed feedback suggests room for improvement.

The location is highly regarded, with guests enjoying the local pub, cheese shop, and easy access to walks and attractions in the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.

Comfortable beds were mentioned, but complaints about an uncomfortable sofa and bright rooms due to thin curtains indicate that comfort could be enhanced.

Facilities are adequate but several guests reported maintenance issues such as broken lights and a temperamental shower. The presence of a TV contrary to the literature was a positive surprise.

While guests mentioned appreciating the basics provided, there were no specific references to gifts or additional thoughtful touches, hence the score cannot be determined.

The house may be a bit tired and in need of a few things, such as changing the kitchen light and one in the bedroom, cleaning carpets, but for us it was a perfect stay. We brought our dog and also needed to work in the mornings, so grateful to have Internet. We brought TP link adapters, so enjoyed a good connection. The dog very much felt at home there too. There are loads of wonderful walks that we enjoyed, some right on the doorstep. The local pub is brilliant and always a warm welcome. We also loved the local cheese shop a mile or so away.I would recommend Ribblestones to anyone with a dog and loving local walks. The cottage is very spacious and I wondered what it may be like in the winter, as the windows are single glazed. I imagine it may get a bit chilly, but the heating system probably is designed to cope?

A lovely cottage which needs some attention and a good clean. Oven very dirty and needs to be professionally cleaned. Shower kept going from hot to cold - needs to be left on eco to keep temperature at an even temperature and should be checked. Sofa very uncomfortable. Beds comfortable and plenty of cupboard space - only half a curtain in the small window of the 2 bed bedroom. The literature states there is no TV; this should be updated as there is a TV.It should be made clear in the cottage literature that off road parking is at the end of the three cottages where there are 3 garages - parking for Ribblestones is in front of the middle garage - do not park too close to the door as the garage is rented out for use by the owner of cottage number 2 and he needs access to the garage. It was lovely to see that toilet rolls and basic cleaning materials were provided. The cottage is in a lovely village with a pub, The Game **** - a must for coffee and croissants, not to mention superb meals. Both the pub and well stocked shop are within easy walking distance of the cottage. Only a short drive to the superb cheese shop, which is well worth a visit. We would not hesitate to return to this stunning part of the country.
