About this property

Cozy Wetherby Retreat is a charming cottage resting in the market town of Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Ideally suited to a couple, this romantic retreat sits within easy reach of both the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park, making it a wonderful base for discovering some of Yorkshire's most celebrated landscapes. Pull into the private parking space and arrive at your home-from-home, before stepping inside to find a welcoming open-plan living space. The sitting area offers a sofa and armchairs gathered around the TV, with a soft rug adding warmth beneath your feet as you settle in after a day of exploring.

A pretty feature wallpaper creates a striking backdrop and follows the staircase upwards, drawing the eye through the property and adding character to the interior. When it's time to dine, take a seat at the dining table for two and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading out for the day or linger over an evening meal together. Close by, the contemporary kitchen is fitted with crisp white units and provides everything needed for a self-catered stay, whether you're preparing a packed lunch for a countryside walk, brewing a fresh coffee before setting off, or loading the dishwasher while plans are made for tomorrow's adventures.

As the evening draws in, follow the patterned wallpaper upstairs to the king-size bedroom, a restful space in which to unwind and recharge. Wake each morning and freshen up in the shower room, where patterned décor adds a touch of style to the walk-in shower, basin and WC. Outside, a lawned garden with chairs offers a pleasant spot to enjoy a morning coffee in the fresh air or relax with a drink as the day comes to a close. A shop is just a short stroll away, while a welcoming pub can be reached on foot for evenings when cooking can take a back seat.

Venture into Harrogate, where elegant architecture, the colourful Valley Gardens and the renowned RHS Garden Harlow Carr provide plenty to fill a day. The town's historic Turkish Baths offer a glimpse into Harrogate's spa heritage, making it one of Yorkshire's most distinctive destinations. Head to York to wander the cobbled lanes of The Shambles, admire the magnificent York Minster and uncover centuries of history at Clifford's Tower. Closer to home, Leeds combines culture and shopping with attractions including the Royal Armouries Museum, the waterside surroundings of Leeds Dock and the impressive Victorian architecture of the Corn Exchange. Nature lovers will be spoilt for choice with the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where rolling countryside, limestone scenery and picturesque villages create unforgettable days out, while the North York Moors National Park showcases sweeping heather moorland, scenic walking routes and charming market towns.

Together, these treasured landscapes provide endless opportunities for walking, sightseeing and soaking up the beauty of Yorkshire. Whether you're discovering historic cities, exploring national parks or simply enjoying time together in Wetherby, Cozy Wetherby Retreat is a delightful West Yorkshire base for a memorable couple's escape.

Wetherby is an ancient market town set in the centre of the Golden Triangle, twelve miles from York and Leeds and eight miles from Harrogate. Its location makes Wetherby ideal as a base for touring the stunning countryside of both the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy wonderful walks by the River Wharfe, as well as cycling, climbing, fishing, boating or just sitting and taking in the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery. Wetherby's Historical Trail guides visitors around the town centre and gives a fascinating insight into Wetherby's past. The town centre has many interesting shops and galleries tucked down its cobbled streets, ancient walkways and secret passageways. The fascinating, historic Cathedral cities of Ripon and York are close by, plus the Spa town of Harrogate, as are the great stately homes of Castle Howard and Harewood House, the Cistercian Abbeys of Fountains, Rievaulx and Jervaulx, and the castles of Middleham, Bolton and Richmond.
