Coldmoor Lodge 6 is a well-equipped and cosy holiday lodge, praised for its cleanliness and beautiful presentation. Guests have enjoyed the friendly staff and amazing food at the nearby Blackwell Ox pub. While some minor issues were noted, such as the lack of a welcome pack and the quality of some furnishings, the overall experience has been positive, with guests recommending the lodge and expressing a desire to return.
The lodge generally received positive remarks on cleanliness, with one report of a very clean lodge. However, one guest mentioned having to mop the floor upon arrival, indicating a slight inconsistency.
There is not enough information to accurately score the location as the reviews do not focus on the surrounding area or accessibility, apart from the proximity to the pub.
Guests found the lodge cosy and the dining area comfortable. However, there were complaints about a low bed, an uncomfortable mattress, and small, hard sofas, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.
The lodge is described as well-equipped, but there were issues with appliance instructions and worn towels. The mention of a lack of a welcome pack suggests some shortcomings in facilities and maintenance.
While guests did not mention any gifts, the absence of a welcome pack was noted. It should be politely stated that while such thoughtful touches are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

Swainby is a village in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire. Swainby is located at the north-western corner of the North York Moors National Park. The characteristics of the village and the surrounding area consist of traditional Yorkshire dry stone walls, hills, sheep, heather and moorland. The village is close to the ruins of Whorlton Castle. In the 19th century the housing of miners who worked the nearby hills for ironstone and jet led to an expansion of the village. Swainby contains two public houses, The Blacksmiths Arms and The Black Horse along with The Rusty Bike – a bike inspired café serving scrummy breakfast and lunches.

Stayed at the Blackwell Ox about 5 or 6 times now (first time in this lodge) and they never fails to impress. Been to many lodges around the country and this is by far our favourite place to stay. Total comfort, great location, an outstanding pub with authentic Thai food, lodges distanced enough from each other to not have any issues with noise/privacy, feels very secluded but only a stone throw from the pub. Perfect
