May Cottage in Settle is highly praised for its excellent central location, making it ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and local amenities. Guests consistently mention the cottage’s comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and homely atmosphere. Cleanliness is generally very good, with only minor issues noted. The property’s layout over three floors and private parking are appreciated, though some found parking a little tight. Wi-Fi can be slow, and a few maintenance points were raised, but these did not detract from an otherwise enjoyable stay. Many guests are repeat visitors, reflecting the cottage’s strong appeal.

Most guests found the cottage very clean, with fresh linen and towels. A few minor issues were mentioned, such as a musty smell on towels, an un-mopped kitchen floor, and a dusty patio, but these were exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is frequently described as excellent, central, and perfect for exploring Settle and the Yorkshire Dales. Guests appreciated the proximity to walks, shops, and public transport.

Guests found the cottage cosy, comfortable, and spacious, with quality beds and a cool lounge area. The quiet area and thoughtful layout over three floors contributed to a restful stay, though bathrooms were noted as a bit small.

The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen appliances, a washer, and a large TV. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a non-working fire, slow bathroom sink drainage, and slow Wi-Fi, but overall facilities met or exceeded expectations.

There are no specific mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.
