Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.

The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna, and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre.
