About this property

Ermysted's Cottage is a stone-built, terraced cottage positioned in a quiet backwater location within the ever-popular market town of Skipton. This Skipton cottage is full of character and retains much charm of a 'bygone age', making an ideal retreat for couples or small families. After a day of touring the North Dales, you can look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, tuning into your favourite TV shows whilst the fire provides a gentle warmth to the room. Continue into the well-designed contemporary kitchen, boasting a plethora of appliances including an electric oven and gas hob, along with all the utensils and crockery needed for a sumptuous family feast. Climb the staircase to the first floor and be greeted by two lovely bedrooms; the master bedroom includes a lavish king-size bed, whilst the second bedroom is home to a full sized single.

Here you will also find a sizable shower room with walk-in shower unit. Head out to the enclosed garden for a breath of fresh air, or pop on your walking boots and waterproof coats for a great outdoor adventure. Often known as ‘The Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’, it’s no surprise that Skipton has become a firm favourite amongst holidaymakers. Explore the medieval castle and its ancient woodland, take canal boat trips or relish in a day at the swimming pool, golf course or tennis courts. Skipton also has a network of walks including gentle rambles and challenging fell walks within close proximity of the town. The award-winning High Street is a short walk away and offers a great choice of restaurants, tea rooms, coffee shops and fish and chip shops, whilst the traditional market sells fresh produce throughout the year such as local cheeses, fish, meat and fresh vegetables. Not forgetting that the Yorkshire Dales is on your doorstep; discover the beautifully restored Embasy & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, Stepping Stones, and The Strid Ancient Woodland. Escape to the admirable Yorkshire countryside with a stay at Ermysted's Cottage.

Ideally positioned on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Skipton is a lively town boasting beautiful canals and an abundance of amenities, such as a good choice of cafés, pubs and stores. Immersed in glorious open countryside, there's so much adventure right on your doorstep. The encompassing towns of Keighley and Harrogate are well-worth a visit, whilst Pateley Bridge and Aysgarth provide ample opportunity to explore the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Could be a problem for those with mobility issues. Similarly, stairs were VERY steep! Great property though - clean, comfortable and beautiful decor.

It has everything you need for a relaxing break. Have stayed here a few times now and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

We ran out of liquid soap on the first night. There was no dishwashing detergent supplied. The welcome pack consisted of a packet of biscuits. Not even a small bottle of Milk in the fridge. Only five tea bags for a three night stay. The toilet seat was loose which was uncomfortable. No toiletries. You were greeted at the front door with a whole lot of weeds including a significant sized nettle in front of the door. These gripes may not seem all that significant but when you pay in excess of £600 for three nights accommodation that makes them Important. I understand there is a School Holiday/Bank Holiday premium and I take that into account. By way of comparison we checked into a better located and bigger cottage in Louth today with a big welcome pack of half a dozen items, toiletries, abundant amounts of tea, coffee, toiletries, cleaning materials etc. The cost was nearly £200 less for the equivalent stay.
