Guests say

Hayton Way is a well-liked cottage in Skipton, praised for its excellent location next to a park and canal, and its spaciousness, particularly the bedrooms. Guests appreciate the welcome gifts and find the property generally clean and comfortable. Some noted the need for maintenance and updating, but these were minor compared to the overall positive experience.

Most guests found the property very clean upon arrival, with specific praise for the cleanliness of certain areas like the bathroom. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as dirty cups and a smelly kitchen, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness standards.

The location is highly regarded, with guests enjoying the quiet residential area, proximity to the town centre, canal, and park. The ease of access to local amenities and the Yorkshire Dales contributed to the high score.

The property is considered comfortable by most guests, with spacious bedrooms and a well-equipped house. Some guests mentioned low furniture which may not suit everyone, and a few minor issues like creaky floorboards, but overall the comfort level was high.

Facilities were generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and multiple bathrooms. However, there were several mentions of maintenance issues such as chipped crockery, a noisy oven, and problematic stairs, leading to a slightly lower score.

Guests frequently mentioned and appreciated the welcome gifts, which included items like Prosecco, milk, and biscuits. While these gestures were well-received, it's important to note that such gifts are a courtesy and not guaranteed with every stay.

Having stayed twice at this property there are several cups/bowls that are chipped/cracked. I didn’t report on this after my first visit so in the event they hadn’t been replaced this time I took my own cups. A great location and lovely home this was the only negative.

This property is in a quiet residential area a short walk to the town and an even shorter walk to the canal. There was plenty of space for us (4 adults and a toddler) and the house is well equipped and comfortable. The host was very generous with the welcome pack of goodies. The only downside is that there are quite a few marks on surfaces and damage to carpets etc and the house could do with a refresh. But this did not affect our stay.
