Guests say

Manna Cottage in Skipton is highly praised for its cleanliness, prime location, and cosy comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful touches provided by the owner. While some minor issues are mentioned, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Guests consistently note the exceptional cleanliness of the cottage, describing it as 'spotless' and 'immaculate', which indicates a high standard of hygiene maintained by the property.

The cottage's location is frequently commended for being central and convenient, with easy access to local amenities and walking routes. However, some guests mention minor difficulties with parking and the proximity of the neighbour's garden.

Many reviews highlight the comfort of the cottage, mentioning a good bed, cosy atmosphere, and warm environment. A few guests, however, found the mattress firm and the seating less comfortable, slightly affecting the score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped for self-catering stays. Some guests faced challenges with the fire and door locks, and the kitchen size was noted as compact, leading to a slightly lower score.

The owner's thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome gifts such as wine, chocolates, and basic provisions. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is important to note that such extras, though delightful, are subject to change and not guaranteed.

About this property

A delightful stone-built terraced cottage in the heart of Grassington, one of the most popular villages in the Yorkshire Dales. An 18th century former lead miner's cottage, it provides an ideal base for a small family or couple wishing to get away from it all and enjoy a wonderful break in this ever-popular area. In a quiet corner of the village yet only a stone’s throw from the vibrant centre of the village, the cottage is packed with character and charm; guests will be delighted by a warm and cosy sitting room with a gas-fired stove set in a beautiful stone surround, as well as a lovely window seat, exposed stone walls and original ceiling beams; an ideal room in which to relax and unwind.

The small kitchen adjoins the sitting room and leads out to a quiet lane. Upstairs, the charming king-size double bedroom boasts pretty views over the adjoining gardens and across the village. There's also a separate shower room available. This cosy and romantic cottage is just a one minute walk from the famous village centre, with its old curiosity shops, excellent local pubs, good eating establishments and, of course, the old cobbled square where the annual Dickensian weekends are a real show-stopper. Add to this the annual Grassington Festival and the close proximity of many of the Dales' famous tourist locations and you've a holiday cottage not to be missed.

A cottage and village full of character and charm, certainly a great combination and one not to be missed!

Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer's market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous "Strid Walk". A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.
