Stirton Burrow is a well-regarded cottage in Skipton, praised for its stunning location and beautiful property. Guests appreciate the friendly and approachable owners, Gerri and Richard, and the thoughtful welcome gifts. The cottage serves as an excellent base for exploring Yorkshire, with many returning for further visits. While most reviews highlight the cleanliness, comfort, and modern facilities, including a hot tub, one review notes cleaning issues and dissatisfaction with outdoor furniture, impacting the overall experience for that guest.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with only one review mentioning significant cleaning issues under the sofa and with bed pillows. This isolated complaint slightly lowers the score.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to Skipton, and ease of access to the Yorkshire Dales. A large farm shop nearby and the walkability to town are frequently mentioned positives.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with one review suggesting the sofa cushions were worn and not comfortable. The beds are described as very comfortable, which is a significant aspect of guest comfort.
Facilities are well-received, with special mentions of the hot tub and modern amenities. However, one review suggests the addition of a mini-fridge near the hot tub, and another expresses disappointment with the outdoor space and furniture, indicating room for improvement.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with several mentions of welcome gifts such as cake and gin. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

A beautiful cottage in a peaceful area. A short walk to a well stocked farm shop, and slightly further to skipton. Lovely hosts. Definitely recommend.

Great location with a fabulous farm shop a very short walk away. Good surrounding views and walks from the property. Property was warm and modern and well equipped. Warm friendly welcome from the owners.Even though the property was generally clean, there were 2 major cleaning complaints. Firstly under the sofa had not been cleaned or hoovered in a long time. Secondly, the bed pillows were very dirty and stained. The bed however, was very comfortable and the sheets clean. The sofa in the lounge was not comfortable as the seat cushions were worn and soft and the sofa was dirty and stained. The other dissapointment for us was the outside space. The listing shows an outside space with furniture outside the patio doors. This was not the case. There was a covered table only. I asked wether or not there were outside chairs and was shown to a garden at the side which had a wooden picnic bench. The garden was pleasent but the furniture was not what we expected and certainly not comfortable. The hot tub was also in that garden, however, its location was not private as it looked onto the area outside the patio doors which the owners and their visitors worked and chatted. The photos on the listing did not portray the actual reality of the outside space. As a result we did not make use of the outside space or the hot tub as we expected and looked forward to.We would not stay again and did not feel it was value for money.
