Away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, The Farmhouse is a charming hideaway ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and its stunning countryside including Malham Cove, Bolton Abbey and Grassington, home to the channel 5 series All Creatures Great and Small.
Sleeping up to 10 guests in three tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, a top-floor bunk room (sleeping 4) with a shared bathroom, and a cosy downstairs living space with a new kitchen, dining room and WC, The Farmhouse is ideal for groups of up to 10 to relax and unwind in comfort, enjoying time well spent together. This property is heated by the land behind via a ground source system, saving 13 tonnes of carbon per year - doing the job of 528 oak trees each year.
Outside, there is a large garden laid to lawn and ample parking space. Set in a peaceful and scenic countryside setting, with convenient access to the amenities of Skipton on the doorstep. Take full advantage of what Broughton Sanctuary has to offer and book a table at The Bull for dinner to enjoy 15% off for up to six guests. Or try the complimentary breakfast available each weekday morning at the Utopia bistro, nestled at the heart of Broughton Sanctuary, before spending the day exploring what this magnificent destination has to offer.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Broughton Sanctuary has been home to many production companies over the years, with Broughton Hall and the magnificent grounds featuring as the backdrop to many shoots, including Emily, Gentleman Jack, Ridley Road and of course All Creatures Great and Small, as the home of Mrs Pumphrey and her infamous dog Tricki Woo. Rich with family history, Broughton Sanctuary's present owner, Roger Tempest is the 32nd generation. His sister, the cartoonist Annie Tempest, has used this childhood home as her inspiration for Country Life’s tongue-in-cheek humour, Tottering Hall, headed up by Dick and Daffy and their loyal black Labrador, Slobber.
The Sanctuary provides wonderful walks, cycling trails, wild swimming, sweat lodge, sauna and access to the award winning Avalon Wellbeing Centre, home to an indoor swimming pool, steam rooms, PT Studio and sauna, all of which are available on request (please contact us for more information).
The 3,000 acre Sanctuary is home to a further 18 holiday homes ranging from unique gatehouses to historic farmhouses, please browse through our website should your gathering increase.
